Delicious food with great service. Beautiful presentation. The hibachi plate was soo much that I had enough to take home a full to go box of food for my next meal. Pricey for this area, but worth an occasional visit.

We ordered the lobster rangoon and the Outstanding Roll. Both were EXCELLENT. Prices are reasonable. For everyone complaining about prices, you have never had handrolled sushi. Any other similar place in Dallas is twice as much. Will be back to try more!! So glad we have a sushi restaurant in GBC!

The food was decent but definitely pricey especially if you're getting sushi rolls, for two people I spent around 60 dollars. The superman roll is a must have as well as the onion soup. The hibachi and yaki soba were both good but in my opinion the Kyonekko truck in Mabank makes better hibachi plates. Opening day is definitely a hit or miss and I had a good experience here. I will definitely be coming back!

One of my favorite restaurants. Always great service from ms Alexis, she’s very attentive and always makes sure we have what we need. One of the best waitresses I’ve seen around the lake!

Service was super friendly and fast. I had the Bento dinner which came with a choice of soup or salad. I went with the Miso soup and was glad I did. Delicious! The rest of the Bento dinner consists of a spring roll, fried rice, four different pieces of fantastic and fresh sushi, pan-fried Gyoza, six pieces of California roll, and a nice little portion of pickled ginger and Wasabi. It was all super tasty and fresh. My wife started with the lobster Rangoon. It was six pieces of perfection! Piping hot, light, not greasy, and chock full of flavor with a nice sauce on the side. For a main, she had chicken fried rice that was just as good as everything else. It's so refreshing to have a choice around the lake area other than the cookie-cutter buffets, Mexican food, and the usual deep-fried fare. Everything came together for a really enjoyable dining experience and we'll be back for sure. Check out the menu ahead of time because they have a huge selection of goodies and when you're there take a peek at the sushi counter up front that has all the fresh fish you're being served on display. The total for both dinners and two beverages was only 40 bucks! A bargain for what we got.

Food was good, but pricey. Service was kinda bad... Brought out one person's food almost 30 mins before everyone else, drinks empty most of the time. Not much value here, but decent sushi in GBC... That's unheard of. I guess it's still cheaper than driving to Dallas or Tyler for sushi. UPDATE - it has been a few years since I reviewed Yamato. It is now my favorite Asian food place in the area. Prices are good, food is great, they have worked out the kinks. Not only is it my favorite Asian food place around CCL, it's also hands down my favorite place to get scallops. The scallops are almost always perfectly cooked, and of good size/portions. That's hard to find, even in DFW.
